On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Illinois Reading Council is planning to hold the Illinois Reads and Young Authors Book Festival from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Tinley Park High School in Tinley Park, Illinois. Plan now to bring your families, students, and all book lovers to this fun and free event. Many authors will be present. Bring your books and have them signed at this event! Illinois Reads has partnered with the Illinois Secretary of State and the Illinois Center for the Book at the Illinois State Library to promote the 2026 Family Reading Night. Family Reading Night is an annual statewide event held the third Thursday in November to encourage families to spend quality time reading together. Each year, posters and bookmarks are made available for libraries, schools, youth and literacy organizations to promote their Family Reading Night Program.
